Orchestral excerpts masterclass to feature the trombone section of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra live in Legacy Hall!

*Indicates that faculty or guest artist will be joining Symposium remotely

Events will be streamed live to YouTube from Legacy Hall using multiple cameras and our recording studio’s high-quality audio.  Archived video of the live streams will be available for participants to review through September 1, 2020.  Because we are using YouTube rather than Zoom or another platform, you can watch all of the streamed content on your smart TV or other high-quality equipment and not have to sit in front of a computer.  Tuition includes:

  • Three evening recitals including solo and chamber music performed by STS faculty, live streamed to all participants
  • One orchestral excerpts masterclass presentation live streamed to all participants
  • Six 90-minute masterclasses (Abissi, Curran, Fedchock, Palmer, Williams, Zgonc) coaching individual students* over Zoom, live streamed to all participants.
  • Warmup classes each morning led by a different faculty member live streamed to all participants
  • Daily panel discussions with the faculty live streamed to all participants, with participants able to ask questions and interact live
  • 6 one-on-one interviews with each faculty member live streamed to all participants, with participants able to ask questions and interact live
  • 4 small-group hangouts (8 or fewer people per group) via Zoom, where participants can meet, network, and talk trombone.  These will be moderated by members of the STS Professors Choir.
  • The ability to sign up for a private online lesson with any of the faculty members for a reduced rate of $100 (normally as much as $150 for online lessons).  These lessons will be held at a mutually convenient time, scheduled before or after the STS.
  • Written feedback from a faculty member on either the audition recording that was submitted for the STS, or for new applicants, a new recording submitted by June 15**.  Recordings should be 10 minutes or less.

*Current STS 2020 applicants who choose to participate in the streaming STS will be offered the first opportunity to perform on a masterclass, and we will be able to accommodate a maximum of 36 performers.

**
Recordings should be submitted to YouTube and set to either Public or Unlisted, and a link should be emailed to Dr. Palmer.
